The general pace of life is becoming faster, the pressures and expectations placed on individual workers, higher. My ongoing project explores the topic of “The Burnout Syndrome” and how it affects people, changing their lives. It is often described as a ‘fashionable’ illness but the reality is very different. Germany and the UK are amongst those countries where high levels of work related stress and job demands are leading to a noticeable increase in the level of mental health problems, which eventually lead to burnout. In the UK alone during 2011 – 2012, almost half a million people reported suffering work related stress. The project aims to enlighten the audience and combat the stigmatisation, the illness is bound to.
It was part of a group exhibition in 2015 in London.
This is an on-going project.
